I am a professional wedding photographer serving Calgary, Alberta and area. I'm for the romantic and down to earth couples who want to have fun at their wedding. Using a photo-journalistic approach I capture all the beauty of your celebration while making photos easy and keeping you looking like yourself!
Candice & Colin always planned to have a small backyard wedding. Just a handful of their favourite people and a laidback recption with lawn games was always their plan. But even that had to be adjusted when CoVid-19 hit.
For this couple, tying the knot without Candice’s grandparents was unimaginable. So they picked up their intimate ceremony and moved it up to St. Albert to be in their grandparents back yard!
This laid back pair have been camping in Rocky Mountain House for the past month. They got ready together at their campsite and then made their way to St. Albert. They met me at the St. Albert Botanical Park for portraits. Arriving in Candice’s grandmother’s pride and joy, her Mustang convertible.
After taking in the beauty of the volunteer run garden, we headed over to the ceremony where everyone observed strict social distancing. Candice’s grandparents had the best seats in the house and watched the ceremony from their deck. They exchanged incredibly sweet personal vows and had their first dance right there on the lawn while a friend sang and played guitar.
Although this pandemic has brought about alot of change for everyone, I truly do love this movement towards intimate gatherings. Laid back, stripped down and unfussy. The where just doesn’t quite matter much when you get to marry your best friend and love of your life!
